We offer counselling and support to young people aged 5-17 (or 24 for care leavers and SEND) in Hampshire, Portsmouth and Southampton. For people who are above our age range or don’t live in our area, see support services here: Support for Outside Our Area and 18+

Who are you?

To get started on submitting your referral, choose one of the two options below.


Refer Myself

I am a young person wanting support

Choose this option to refer yourself to Hampshire Youth Access for counselling and support.

You must be:

  • Aged between 5-17
  • Or aged between 18-24, and be someone who is currently in care, has left care, or has a Special Education Need (SEN)

Submission takes around 10 minutes.

Before you start

Fill this form in if you are a young person only.

If you live outside of Hampshire, Portsmouth and Southampton, your referral will not be accepted.

Refer a Young Person

I want to refer a young person to get support

Choose this option to refer a young person to Hampshire Youth Access for counselling and support.

You must be:

  • A GP or Mental Health services professional
  • Other type of supporting professional (eg teacher)
  • The young person's parent/carer
  • A family member, partner, other person known to the young person

Submission takes around 15 minutes.

Before you start

Fill this form in if you are a parent/carer, family member, GP or other professional.

Referrals for young people living outside of Hampshire, Portsmouth and Southampton will not be accepted.
